In Placer County, it is believed that golf courses have replaced the
county's gold mines as its richest resource. Twelve Bridges, Lincoln's
successful championship golf course, also incorporates a complete planned
community with residential, commercial and retail space designed to be
developed in stages
Even with all the rapid growth in Placer County, Lincoln residents
still enjoy the small-town lifestyle. The City Council and Planning
Commission review more subdivisions and road improvement proposals as the
area becomes recognized as a good location for high tech companies and
their workers. Lincoln is expected to be one of Placer County's next
growth areas.
The Twelve Bridges Regional Manufacturing Training Center is a
partnership program supported by local government agencies and corporate
leaders like Hewlett-Packard Company and NEC. Its goal is to provide
specialized training in high-tech fields to produce qualified workers
for companies who have opened or are soon to be relocating to this area.
A new Sierra College campus is proposed, more golf courses are coming,
and new home subdivisions have already begun to fill the need for homes
for not only Lincoln but also employees in Roseville, Rocklin, and
Marysville. Del Webb’s development at
Lincoln Hills is receiving the same enthusiastic buying season as did
his Roseville development.
Lincoln has been a farming, mining and manufacturing community for 120
years. Gladding, McBean & Company pottery has provided
employment since the 1970's. Lincoln's famous "Feats of Clay"
art show and clay festival is held at the Gladding McBean every year.
The Lincoln Arts also promotes the youth division of "Feats of Clay", a
series of free summer Concerts in the Plaza, gallery exhibits, music and
art classes, and many more activities.
Lincoln sits halfway between Roseville and Marysville's Beale Air Force
Base on Highway 65. Highway 65 is a direct shot to Highway 80 which takes
you to the Lake Tahoe/Reno area or to Sacramento.
Choices for homes still range in small ranchettes, subdivision homes,
or bare land to build the home of your dreams.
Lincoln has a city-manager form of government with a five member
council. City Hall is located at 1550 Third Street, Lincoln.
