Loomis
is a desirable location for homeowners who want larger properties with a
rural feel. Loomis offers a "neighborhood" setting that is
close to shopping and snuggles up to Folsom Lake. Those who choose the
high-end, gated communities live in large custom homes built among oak
forests and rock outcroppings. Prices can range over $1,000,000
here. Los Logos and Shelbourne are two of the developments that offer this
type of property.
Not all homes are in the higher price ranges. There are homes on
large parcels in the more modest range and the area offers many lifestyle
options.
The town is located between Rocklin and Auburn and is 25 miles from
Sacramento. There are three parks, four playgrounds and a nine-hole
golf course.
Most of the Loomis residents go to nearby Roseville for shopping and
services. There is a large new Raley's shopping center at Hwy.
80 and Horseshoe Bar Road.
One of the biggest events in Loomis is the annual Eggplant Festival
which began as somewhat of a joke because no one in Loomis raised
eggplants at the time. The festival has become a major attraction.
Loomis is one of the slower growing areas in Placer County.
Residents would rather preserve their quality of life than add more
residents. Loomis incorporated in the mid 1980s and has a
council-manager form of government with a five-member town council.
