Roseville

Roseville started as the California Central and the Central Pacific Railroad junction in 1864.  It became "Roseville" because Mother Nature decorated the surrounding countryside with an abundance of roses.

Today Roseville offers a blend of commercial and residential development.  High tech companies such as Hewlett-Packard Company and NEC have continued to enlarge their campuses in the area.  There are new companies building along the Highway 65 corridor.

Residential areas include first time homebuyer homes in the $160,000 range within the new developments up to spacious homes on larger pieces of property in the $400,000 range.  The area around Del Webb's Sun City is continuing to fill in with new homes in all price ranges.   Del Webb, US Homes and other developers are taking advantage of the popularity of the region and building homes that meet the needs and recreational pastimes of seniors.

Just across Highway 80 along Douglas Boulevard in Roseville, there are financial institutions, discount stores, restaurants and much more. Currently under construction, residents and guests alike will enjoy shopping at a new regional mall with an abundant offering including five anchor stores, movie complexes and restaurants.

Roseville has a network of local regional hospitals and health maintenance organizations, including Kaiser Hospital and the new Sutter Roseville Medical Center, providing full service medical care. The area is serviced by 11 elementary schools, and five high schools and there are currently 6 private elementary schools  located in Roseville.

Recreation in Roseville is extensive including an aquatic center at the new Woodcreek High School, adventure clubs and 24 developed parks. The city of Roseville is recognized throughout California for having one of the highest standards in the state for park acres per resident. A short commute will find a Roseville resident in the foothills enjoying lakes, streams, hiking, dirt biking, water and snow skiing, white water rafting as well as gaming in Lake Tahoe and Reno.
