Orangevale is one of the communities in Sacramento County that offers
homes on large parcels of land, some with livestock. Horses are
especially popular with residents along Oak and Hazel Avenues with riding
trails nearby at Orangevale Park. The community also offers a mix of
homes on smaller parcels and homes for the first time buyer.
Orangevale residents are so partial to their lifestyle, they have
formed a group called "Preserve Orangevale's Country Life". While
enjoying their rural life, these homeowners still enjoy their close
proximity to downtown Sacramento and the larger shopping centers such as
Arden Fair, Sunrise Mall and Country Club Plaza.
The unincorporated town is served by
San Juan School District which is recognized as one of the finest
school systems in the nation. Many of the school rankings land in the 80th
and 90th percentile which are very high. This is an indication
of the strong parental and community support of education.
This is one of the reasons many people choose to live in Orangevale.
Residents pay a local tax for parks and recreation, lights and
landscaping. There are seven parks, a youth center, library,
and a new Community Center on Hazel.
Orangevale is about 20 miles from downtown Sacramento and is a short
drive to Folsom
Lake and Lake Natoma. Nearby Highway 50 will take you to Lake
Tahoe for summer and winter fun and beauty.
