Old
Town Folsom is a favorite among those who appreciate the gold rush era.
Antique and gift shops, eateries with patio dining line Sutter Street.
Traveling the streets around Old Town, you will see quaint 100 year old
homes. People continue to buy and restore the old Victorian
and cottage style homes.
Folsom is once again a boom town. Intel Corporation continues to
enlarge their campus along Highway 50 and the vendors who supply Intel
continue to build around the campus.
Many new subdivisions offer home options to suit residents of varying
income. The American River Canyon development is across the American River
from the old town area. Its softly rolling hills are covered
with oaks and some of the most expensive homes in the county. Subdivisions
fill in the areas between highway 50 and Folsom Lake. Every
day, new homes are started and the area continues to grow. Prices
for single family homes begin in the $180,000s and go on up to the
$400,000s.
Folsom
residents enjoy quick access to Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma both of which
have spectacular views, sandy beaches and summer fun. Getting to the
ski slopes at Kirkwood and Heavenly Valley at Lake Tahoe means just
hopping on Highway 50. Wonderful wilderness areas with
beautiful mountain lakes are close by so you can return home the same day
after enjoying a hike or fishing trip.
Shopping couldn't be easier – Folsom has its own Outlet Mall and is close
to the Sunrise Mall area.
Health care, as in all regions of Sacramento, is abundant and near by.
Elementary, middle and high schools in this area are within the Folsom
Cordova Unified School District.
